About Edom

Edom was founded in year 2003 and is a partnership between a select group of growers, marketers and customers. Valley Grown Salads owns 20% of the company. Jimmy Russo (Director) is Edom’s Chairman.

Although the company started off as a conventional pepper supplier, it has now grown and branched out to tomatoes and is also one of the main producers of organic peppers and tomato in Israel.


The Arava Desert

Edom grow the majority of their crops in the Arava desert. In winter this is an ideal growing area thanks to particularly mild days and cold nights which prevent the growth of diseases thus preventing the use of spraying.

WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE COMMUNITY

Valley Grown Salads and EDOM are sponsoring a horticultural project for the children of the local school in the Arava desert. As part of the project the children have a plot of land where they can grow vegetables, this allows them to learn where the food they eat comes from. They also have a room where they study and learn how to care for the environment and wildlife. The response from the children has been extremely positive. They enjoy having time in the open air where they can do something practical and rewarding and we, as a company are proud to be able to support them in this useful and interesting activity and will continue to do so.
